ABOUT ME

My name is Jan Mace and I currently live in Nottingham with my husband Gary and two very lively baby guinea pigs - Marley and Sherbet!  Originally from Baildon in West Yorkshire, I started my teaching career in Hampshire in the mid 1980's at a time when creativity and personalised learning were highly valued. I was blessed to be mentored by an exceptional teacher - Barbara Cotterill -who shaped me to become the teacher I am today. Thanks Barb!
I have three passions in life: education, property and my faith. As well as my education business, I am a Director of a property transformation business - The Kingsway Co (Properties) Ltd, which we run with two close friends of ours - Colin and Carey Towers. Colin is an ex teacher and an excellent secondary school science tutor if you are looking for support with your older children!  In property, we specialise in taking 'ugly duckling' properties and transforming them into smart, modern, desirable homes for sale or to rent. Based in the north of England, we work with investors to mentor them on their journey or to give them a great return on their investment with us.  This has a charitable motive as we donate a percentage of all our profits to the Christian charity 'Compassion' through which we sponsor five amazing children in Africa.  I am a  Christian and lead our Church - Waymaker Church UK -  with my husband Gary - also a teacher. I have a mission to support all children to become the confident, unique, creative individuals that they were designed to be.
